NFL: Rams need QB to be ‘one of the top two or three’ candidates in medical school

Updated June 10, 2018 10:03:27The NFL Scouting Combine is just around the corner, and there’s no doubt the Rams are on the lookout for a quarterback.

As it turns out, there’s one quarterback that could make the cut, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Per Rapoports report, the Rams have an affinity for Alabama’s Blake Barnett, and have had a “significant” interest in him for a while.

Per the report, Rams owner Stan Kroenke was in the market for a QB in the 2018 class, and that interest was intensified after the Rams drafted Brock Osweiler in the first round.

While Barnett has a history of shoulder problems, he’s shown some promise, and he’s a better-than-average athlete.

While Barnett is only the second player in the country to throw for more than 3,000 yards, he has thrown for more touchdowns than interceptions in each of the last two seasons.

He’s also had one of the best rushing seasons of any back in the nation, averaging nearly 5 yards per carry.

In fact, he ranks as the top running back in school history.

The Rams also have a need at quarterback, and it’s clear they like Barnett as a candidate.

He has experience as a starter, and they’ll likely have to find a way to get him a chance to prove himself, but Barnett could be a good fit for their needs.
