A schoolgirl found guilty yesterday of murdering a nursing school teacher has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
The 18-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted to the murder of teacher Amy Williams on May 31, 2017.
She was given a 12-year jail term.
Williams, 46, was shot in the head by a gun hidden under her clothing in her nursing home.
The court heard she had been in a relationship with a male student at the school when she was killed.
The girl was not at the nursing home when Williams was shot.
The girl’s mother was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to the head and was also found with a gun in her car.
She died at the hospital.
Williams’ father has pleaded guilty to murder and is serving life in prison.
The boy’s mother pleaded guilty.
A second child, a girl, has also pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
