A public school in Newark, New Jersey, won’t teach students about sex and its harmful effects.
The school board decided not to teach sex ed during a special meeting this week after a district employee made a YouTube video showing students how to use condoms.
A local news station posted the video, which was edited to remove the student’s name.
The district will also not teach about condoms, the New York Post reported.
The video was posted to a social media website, where it has since been viewed nearly 10,000 times.
A spokesman for the district said the video was not representative of the district and that the board would not have taken it.
A second video was also posted, but the district’s spokesman told the Post that it was edited.
The New Jersey Education Department did not immediately return a request for comment. [AP]
