You’ve heard the drill: “Look for the name and address on the front of the school’s website.
Then find out if they’re accredited and what the state’s dental requirements are.”
The answer is: they’re not accredited, but they’re really good.
Here are the five biggest challenges to finding the perfect dental school.
1.
Accreditation isn’t always easy to find.
A number of dental schools are currently looking for accredited programs.
Some of the most prestigious schools in the country are looking to recruit dental students from outside the United States.
Other schools are considering offering scholarships for students to attend their schools.
2.
Most dental schools don’t have the resources to cover the full cost of attending.
For dental students, a program that offers free or reduced-price dental services might be a good idea, but most dental schools require students to pay a fee to cover their tuition and fees.
For some dental students and families, a school might not have the money to cover these costs.
3.
Dental schools aren’t always open on the weekends.
Dorms and dining rooms are open on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.
That means students can work out in the school cafeteria while eating dinner.
4.
Students may have trouble finding dental work.
If you’re looking for dental work, the first step is to find the school that’s accredited.
If it’s not accredited or the school is a school that offers scholarships, the next step is finding out if the dental school is accepting students.
