A teacher’s strike is expected to continue in Raja Bazar district of Rajasthani in Rajya Sabha today.
The union for the district, which is in Haryana’s Meerut region, said a meeting of teachers and union leaders is scheduled at 8am to discuss the matter.
“The union’s demand that the salary should be fixed at Rs 3,000 a month is being accepted.
The teachers are not willing to accept that,” the union’s General Secretary Rajesh Chavan said.
He said that if the teachers want to take a strike they will do so.
The strike has come to a standstill in the district after the teachers had called for the Union Cabinet to grant them a salary hike.
