The University of Athena, in Greece, will offer university degrees in the US, the UK and Australia in the next five years, with the first graduates graduating in 2026.
The new programme will allow graduates to work for the US military in the field of bio-intensive nutrition and to work in a number of different industries including pharmaceutical, engineering and healthcare.
“It’s a great opportunity for students to learn from the best in the industry,” said Dr Maria Rieti, the head of the university’s research department.
“We are confident that this programme will increase the number of graduates with advanced degrees who are able to start their careers in the United States, Australia and other countries.”
The university has previously announced that its students will study at least two subjects at Athens, and has already started to offer them a job.
The company behind the programme said it had secured a contract for the construction of a new research centre and that the students would receive “excellent employment prospects”.
“The new work is being done in the same way as the existing programme, with a focus on the areas of bioactive materials and nutrition and on the design of new products,” said the company, Energias Energy Technologies.
“As with all programmes, we are still in negotiations with the companies who will supply the students.”
The programme is expected to open in 2019.
